Dry Needling

Dry needling, also commonly referred to as intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a treatment technique that involves the momentary insertion of a fine and flexible needle into a shortened muscle or group of muscles to achieve relaxation, improved function, and reduced pain.

Areas in the muscle, known as knots or myofascial trigger points, that feel ropey and tender are targeted.  Dry needling has been shown in the research to have positive effects on numerous musculoskeletal pains. This can allow you to have less pain and improved mobility quicker and make it easier to perform your corrective and rehabilitative exercises.

Dry needling has been helpful in improving back or neck pain, tennis elbow, joint problems, cervicogenic and tension headaches, joint problems, myofascial pain, pelvic pain, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, shoulder impingement, spinal issues, TMJ or TMD (jaw injuries), tendonitis, whiplash and more.
